Assignment:
The organization, supportive of a multidimensional feedback about its employees, should
adopt 360-degree appraisal into its system. 360-degree appraisal involves input from
multiple levels within the firm as well as external sources. But in this system, the employees
may or may not be comfortable with feedback due to their own thinking regarding their
performance.

Mr. Omer is the manager of XYZ Construction Company. He felt he was doing his job to the
best of his skills. He was a successful manager who set and met the objectives that supported
the mission of the company with the help of his staff members.  According to his perception,
his subordinates were happy with him and conflict or unusual behavior did not appear among
them. But, in feedback, his staff members saw things from a different angle. Most of them
thought that Omer was too demanding. A stressful work environment was created by him
and was also affecting many customers who had daily dealing with him.

Upon the result of 360-degree feedback, Mr. Omer was sent to a training program for his
personal development and improvement of skills for creative leadership. Before training, he
went through many assessments and feedbacks and a special training program was designed
for him. After returning from training, he  changed his working style to overcome the
deficiencies and created a positive work environment for his subordinates.

Requirements:

1.  How  360‐degree  appraisal  effectively  supports  the  organization?  Discuss  in  the  light  of
given scenario.
2.  What kind of problems could have occurred in XYZ Construction Company in the absence of
360‐degree appraisal system?
 Note:
Only in the case of Assignment, 24 hours extra / grace period after the due date is
usually available to overcome uploading difficulties which may be faced by the
students on last date.  This extra time should only be used to meet the emergencies
and above mentioned due dates should always be treated as final to avoid any
inconvenience.
